Penny Ring

This was one of the first rings I ever made. I found this old penny at a market and discovered when I polished it up it shone.

What you will need:

1 Old Coin (I used a penny)

1 Ring back (these can be bought off ebay or from jewellery supply shops, mine is a 7mm one but any size would do for this project)

Super Glue (this will get all over your hands if youre anything like me)

What to do:

This is really easy, take the super glue and put some on the disk of the ring back then press it in the middle of your coin on the face that you dont want to face out. Be sure that it is oriented the way you want it (with words or pictures the right way up, etc.) then press together until it is dry. This may take a while so be careful not to move the parts or they wont stick. If it does fall apart just try again and hold for longer :) Also be careful when letting go after pressing it together because your fingers may have become stuck to the ring and the ring may break apart!

Handy tip: Before starting use some Brasso or Silvo (metal cleaning products, there will be some under the sink somewhere) to make your coin extra shiny.
